From Products to Purpose

The Gift Fair introduces our Matchmaker AI to transform how buyers discover suppliers through intent, not keywords.

The way we search for and discover products is changing fast.
For decades, sourcing online has followed a familiar pattern: browse categories, apply filters, and search by product type. While effective at scale, most buyers will recognize that in reality it often means sifting through hundreds of options to find what truly fits their needs.
Now, the upcoming Gift Fair UK is introducing a new approach.
At the center of this shift is a new agentic AI-powered feature, recently launched as part of The Gift Fair platform. Built using insights from previous shows to reflect how buyers actually think, the system allows users to search not by product characteristics, but by their business objectives.
In simple terms, agentic AI means the system doesn't just respond to keywords, it understands intent and actively works towards an outcome.
It can also take action on your behalf. Whether it's finding the right contact details, arranging store visits, sourcing pricing and MOQ information, or gathering product details, our Matchmaker AI helps reduce the manual effort traditionally involved in sourcing.
Instead of searching for "candles" or "gift sets", buyers can now ask:
"Show me bestselling gifts under £20"
"Take me to booths with sustainable homeware suppliers"
"Introduce me to emerging brands not on the high street"
The result is a more direct connection between intention and outcome helping buyers identify relevant suppliers faster, and with greater confidence.
This innovation comes at a time of significant growth for The Gift Fair ecosystem.
Recent figures highlight strong and accelerating engagement:
Over 8,400 unique buyers attended The Gift Fair USA
More than 13,000 unique users engaged with the show
65% of traffic was driven via mobile devices
Buyers spanned over 17 distinct retail categories across the US
Core areas of interest included gifting and accessories
These numbers reflect not only the scale, but also the diversity of demand from independent retailers to larger multi-category buyers seeking differentiated product ranges.
The introduction of agentic AI builds on this momentum by addressing a key industry challenge: relevance.
"Increasingly, buyers don't start with a product they start with a goal," says Fabian Santoro from The Gift Fair UK.
"Whether that's improving margins, sourcing sustainably, or finding something new for their customers, the intent comes first. Our goal has always been to connect that intent with the right suppliers."
By aligning the serendipity of discovery with real-world objectives, the platform reduces time spent searching while improving the quality of matches between buyers and brands ultimately lowering time, cost, and effort on both sides.
For suppliers, this represents a shift in how they are discovered. Rather than relying solely on optimizing websites, growing social media audiences, or sending outreach at scale, brands are surfaced based on how well they meet specific buyer needs, opening up new opportunities for meaningful differentiation.
As The Gift Fair continues to expand across both UK and US markets, this approach signals a broader evolution in trade buying behavior, one that blends traditional relationships with intelligent, outcome-driven discovery.
In an industry built on connection, the tools used to make those connections are now evolving.
And for buyers and suppliers alike, the implications are significant. Be the first to experience it this September at The Gift Fair UK.og here...
